digital printing

Digital printing is a modern production method that creates prints from electronic files. It involves creating your artwork on a computer and then printing it directly onto the material of your choice. Digital printing is an alternative to traditional methods such as lithography, flexography, gravure, letterpress, etc - it eliminates many of the mechanical steps required for printing. Traditional films, such as making films and color rehearsals, hand stripping pieces together, and making paintings.

How does digital printing work

With the digital printing method, the image is sent directly to the printer using digital files in PDF, TIFF, PSD, or other formats. Digital printing is best used for items that require large amounts of detail and smaller quantity orders.

Unlike traditional printing, there are no prepress stages between digital document files and the final product; There is also no need for messy coordinating equipment such as film plates or photo chemicals.

Digital prints should ideally come out when the next stages of production have been meticulously completed.

The file is prepared with a clear, sharp image with a resolution high enough for the printing volume requirements.

Crop and bleed marks are added as needed Crop marks are lines on the corner of the print job After bleed cuts Crop marks ensure that no unprinted edges appear in the final document that has been cut.

The next stage is enforcement - ensuring that as much paper space as possible is used for printing in order to make the job efficient and reduce paper waste.

Before sending it to the printer, the electronic document file (the image or text you're printing) must be converted to a BMP, TIFF, GIF, or JPEG file format. These files are known as bitmap files or bitmaps. Depending on the software used, PDF files can also be used to print from.

Why do we choose digital printing?

Digital printing is a new paradigm for the industry, offering more options, features and flexibility compared to older methods such as offset or flexographic printing.

Today, we expect printed materials to be accurate and up-to-date - customers need printers to be able to produce cost-effective, high-quality, short-range color printing in the fastest possible time frame.

However, it's not always easy to decide which process suits your job best, so before you choose how to print your design, there are a few things to keep in mind.

Benefits of digital printing:

HIGH QUALITY: This offers great quality and consistency over other options Colors appear perfectly on prints and no issues with harsh fonts With digital printing the quality of the last card, brochure or flyer in one go is the same as the first.

Timeliness: There are fewer steps in the printing process, and as a result, the final product can be delivered faster.

COST-EFFECTIVE: Because printing plates are not required, there is less investment to set up a single job.

Short Runs: Digital printing is the ideal way to produce short to medium print runs compared to traditional methods.

Personalization: Digital printing provides the most affordable solution for personalizing marketing materials, direct mail pieces, letters, business cards, and more.

The importance of digital printing

In today’s digitally driven world, technology and social media reign today, but don’t rule out the print industry, it is still going strong and in today’s digital world, printing is more important than ever for businesses.

Flexible printing

One of the goals and benefits of digital marketing is the ability to get a message across to the consumer instantly, whether it's a tweet, a paid social campaign, or an old-fashioned email campaign. While these are effective ways to get a message across, digital messages do not have a long life for printed collateral.

When a potential customer receives a printed brochure, they can take it with them and read it at their leisure and it will stay longer than a quick hit on social media. Printing provides flexibility.

Create an "experiment"

The customer can hold a printed piece in their hands and feel the quality of the stock and experience the finishing touch. When it comes to branding and typography, touch has the power to change emotions and create an experience.

As we live in a digital age, print materials can be a differentiating factor and help your customers stand out from the crowd, making their marketing more effective.

Everyone is not connected

Although digital marketing is a primary method of marketing used by most brands today, it is important to consider that not everyone is connected to the Internet or may have the ability to go online and interact with multiple platforms.

Digital printing is a reliable way for your customers to reach their audience. Print and digital marketing can work together to get the message out.

Back to basics

It is typical to receive hundreds of messages a day and digital marketing is great if the audience is engaged, but it can be difficult to stand out from the crowd, as a result, using print is a great way to differentiate a business.
