Saudi Electricity Company (SEC):

In November 2011, the Saudi Electricity Company took an important step towards green energy by opening the first solar power plant in Saudi Arabia on Farasan Island.


According to this interview, it is a 500 kW solar power plant project using technology from Solar Frontier in Japan, the plant is directly connected to the Saudi Electricity Company's distribution system.


King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST)

KAUST is a living example that environmentally responsible approaches to energy use, materials management, and water consumption are viable in the region, and in June 2010, the KAUST campus was awarded a platinum rating on the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) scale, issued by the Council of American green building.


A collaborative project is also underway between UC Berkeley, KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology) and Dar Al-Hekma College to support the development of sustainable engineering infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.


Saudi Gulf Environmental Protection Company (SEPCO)

SEPCO was established in 1997 as a specialized biological waste management company, they provide biological waste disposal services to the majority of healthcare service providers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


Saudi Environmental Society (SENS)

SENSE was established as a non-profit national association in accordance with the decision of the Ministry of Social Affairs to promote and enhance the preservation of the environment in the Kingdom, SENS is also expected to enhance the role of the private sector to contribute to the protection of the environment and the preservation of natural resources and wildlife.
