Electrical panels

Everyone who lives in a house or owns it almost heard of an electric plate, but a few people really know what they do and how they work, and while the electric panels can look like complex equipment that requires specialized knowledge to understand it, but it works according to some simple principles that any can Almost someone understood.

Electric panels, sometimes called the cracking box or a crushing plate, is a metal box that carries the electrical circuit breakers in your home. Modern homes have circles that control the ability to part of the house, and when needed, the cutters "journey" and cut the current from a specific circle as a safety procedure.

Electrical panels

The theme of home electrical panels and cracking boards may seem very difficult for most home owners, but it is very simple if you take enough time to learn the basics.

Below we will take an in -depth look at the electrical panels, how they work, different types, and how to find the bridge plate in your home, and many other common questions related to crushing boxes.

Basics of electrical panels

As a home owner or almost any person who lives in a house, it is important to know the electrical panels for safety and comfort, in the event of an emergency, you should know the location of the breaker box in your home so that you can separate the energy from the affected circuits.

More commonly, your cutter will move, and you will need to reset it and restore energy to the circuit. Knowing the location of the electrical plate in your home and how it works will make the entire process smoother, it is also good to know precisely how the equipment in your home works for any repair work you need.

What is the electrical plate?

Modern home electrical systems consist of many circuits that control electricity for certain areas at home.

While a single circuit can provide energy to multiple rooms, each room in the house often gets its own circle, and large devices also get custom circles.

The electrical panel is a steel box that contains circuit breakers, in the case of the main crushing plate, the energy enters the meter and is divided into different circles, and each has a circuit breaker of its own.

There are many sizes and types of different crushers paintings, including the main panels, the main loop boards, the sub -panels, and the conversion switches, which we will take a more deepening look later on.

The main plate cuts act as a safety barrier between the source wire coming from the meter and the electrical wires in your home, when you discover a cutter of an electric malfunction that may damage your home or people, it quickly cuts the energy from the affected circuit.

Other types of electric panels, while they are often in different places in your home electrical system, operate on the same principle.

Electrical panel components

When you open the metal door of the electric plate, it may seem like a giant chaos of wires, metal bars, and crushing switches, but each piece serves a specific purpose, and the entire system cannot work without all ingredients - at least not safe.

Below we will review the main parts that you will see in a model home electrical panel:

Cuar Box - Craft Box is the metal box that contains all ingredients and the crushing boxes are usually installed on the wall and has one door in the front. There is a large opening at the top of the source wires, along the top and bottom and sides, emanating from the sub -circuit to exit.

Source Wires - Source Wires are the wires that come from the meter to the cracking box from the top.

There are usually three source wires: two hot wires and a neutral wire. The hot source wire is connected to the main semester key, while the neutral source wire is connected to the neutral connection bars.

The main semester key - the hot source wire is connected to the main semester key before heading to the hot bars.

It is usually near the top of the cracking box and acts as a major broker for the cracking plate. The entire electrical plate loses its energy in case the main semester key is disrupted or turned off manually.

Hot Busbars - hot connection bars (usually) are two strips that span off the middle of the cracking plate, hot source wires are connected to hot connecting bars to supply the entire panel and any subsequent sub -energy circles, circuit breakers work along hot connecting bars.

Neutral Busbar - The neutral connection bars link the primary neutral source wire with all neutral wires from the sub -circles.

The site of the neutral connection bars can differ from the cracking box to the crusher box, but it usually works in parallel with hot connection bars (when combined with ground connection bars on the main cutter) or turning off it alongside the box.

How do electrical panels work?

Electrical panels can look very complex, but very simple by just understanding how the electrical systems work, the electrical system of your home consists of circuits in which the electric current flows, supplies devices and ports with energy, then flow again to complete the circle.

The main electrical panels receive energy from the main source wires run by the electric attachment, the high voltage stream reaches your home through the facilities wires, passes through a transformer to reduce the voltage, pass through the electricity meter, then enter your home. In the event of a sub -plate, it works on the same principle but receives energy from the main electrical panel instead of source wires.

When should electrical panels be replaced or maintained?

flickering lights

If the lights flicker when using home appliances, there may be a connection problem, if one of the appliances is working but appears to have diminished outputs, there is a chance that your circuits are overloaded, this is an indication that your board is old and unable to handle pregnancy.

burning smell

If your service box connection is poor, a lot of power will be generated in a small area, and when the heat gets too high, you can smell a burning smell.

Overheating can cause port discoloration, this is a serious issue and requires immediate attention.
